    Cheif Security Officer

    Location: Lagos, Mainland

    WatchGuard Group Limited is a leading Safety, Personal and Asset Protection Company delivering integrated security, loss prevention, and risk management solutions across Nigeria. 

    We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded and result-driven Chief Security Officer (CSO) to provide strategic leadership for our security operation while driving service excellence, business growth and client satisfaction.

    The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the private security industry, strong operational leadership skills and the ability to develop and grow lasting client relationships. 

    Key Responsibilities 

    Operational Leadership

    1. Provide strategic direction for all manned guarding operation across client locations 
    2. Develop, implement and continuously improve operational policies, procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    3. Ensure the efficient deployment, supervision, welfare and discipline of all security personnel
    4. Conduct regular operational inspections, site audits and quality assurance assessments 
    5. Ensure full compliance with contractual obligations, company standards and regulatory requirements 
    6. Lead investigations into security incidents and ensure timely submission of comprehensive reports 
    7. Oversee emergency response planning, crisis management and business continuity initiatives 

    Business Development & Client Management

    1. Develop and implement strategies for acquiring new security contracts and expanding the Company’s market presence 
    2. Prepare technical proposals, security assessments and commercial bids for prospective clients
    3. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, regulatory agencies and strategic partners 
    4. Conduct client presentations, contract negotiations and periodic service review meetings 

    Strategic Planning & Business Performance

    1. Contribute to the development and execution of the Company’s strategic objectives and annual business plans 
    2. Collaborate with Management on budgeting, resource planning and financial performance improvement
    3. Monitor operational performance against established targets and recommend improvement initiatives
    4. Prepare periodic operational and management reports for Executive Management
    5. Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions where necessary 

    People Leadership 

    1. Lead, mentor and develop Operations Managers, Patrol Supervisors, Site Supervisors and Security Guards
    2. Support the recruitment, selection, onboarding and training of security personnel 
    3. Conduct periodic performance evaluations and implement development plans for operational staff

    Compliance & Risk Management

    1. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and industry best practices governing private security operations 
    2. Identify operational risks and implement effective mitigation strategies 
    3. Ensure proper documentation, record keeping and audit readiness

    Stakeholder Engagement

    1. Represent the Company in meetings with clients, regulators, law enforcement agencies, industry associations and other stakeholders 
    2. Foster productive relationships that enhance the Company’s reputation and competitive position
    3. Support the promotion of the Company’s brand and professional image within the security industry

    Requirements

    1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Security Management, Criminology, Law or a related discipline 
    2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the private security industry 
    3. At least 2 years in a senior operational leadership role within a reputable man-guarding company
    4. Proven track record in business development, client acquisition and account management
    5. Strong understanding of the Nigerian private security industry and its regulatory environment
