Role Description

• This is a contract role for a Nigerian Chef at Precious Palm Royal Hotel, located on-site in Benin City. The Nigerian Chef will be responsible for preparing and presenting a variety of authentic Nigerian dishes, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, managing food stock and inventory, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The role also involves menu planning, supervising kitchen staff, and providing training for consistent delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with the culinary team to enhance the hotel dining experience.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in preparing authentic Nigerian cuisine and a comprehensive understanding of local ingredients and cooking methods
• Skills in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation
• Experience in managing kitchen staff and ensuring high standards of hygiene and safety
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• A strong sense of creativity and innovation in creating new recipes
• Prior experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in hotels or restaurants, is an advantage
• Relevant culinary certifications or training is preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing guest preferences
