Overall Purpose of Job

• Provide support to the finance function in managing the day-to-day financial activities of the company.
• Responsible for assisting in the management of the Finance Function.

Responsibilities

• Everyday book keeping.
• Processing of invoices and ensuring each expense is cross-checked with the corresponding invoice.
• Documentation/recording of payments.
• Tracking payables and receivables.
• Maintaining the imprest system.
• Inventory Management.
• Petty cash/expense management.
• Bank transactions/reconciliations.
• Daily Bank Pos Reconciliations.
• Processing refunds and resolving billing disputes.
• Ensure prompt invoicing and debt collection.
• Support in the compilation, analysis and approval of global monthly budgets for management consideration.
• Support in Prepare financial statements.
• Comply with internal control procedures on a day to day basis.
• Support and review day to day work of the finance unit.
• Participates in the selection of subordinate members of the Finance team.
• Support in Payroll Administration.
• Support in PAYE and administration of other taxes and statutory payments.
• Carry out any other tasks assigned by the Finance Manager.

Person Specifications / Competencies

• First Degree in Accounting or related courses.
• ICAN / ACA Certification is required.
• 2 – 5 years cognate experience.
• Experience in retail business is an added advantage.
• Sound knowledge of accounting standards.
• Proficiency in the use of computer applications.
• Proficiency in the use of Quickbooks is an added advantage.
• Sound numeric skills.
• Sound MS Excel skill.
• Good knowledge of import finance operations.
• Relationship management.
• Problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Personal organization.
• Experience in Retail Organization.
