CCTV Operator at Churchgate Group

Job Summary: 

CCTV Operator is responsible for the effective monitoring and operation of the CCTV system to ensure continuous and optimal recording of activities within the facility. The role involves detecting and preventing crime, observing and reporting suspicious behaviour, maintaining accurate incident logs, and liaising with management and relevant authorities when necessary. 

The position requires strict control of the CCTV control room, monitoring contractor access to ensure proper authorization, maintaining constant communication with the security supervisor, and complying with data protection regulations to safeguard sensitive information. 

Key responsibilities: 

• Maintain the appropriate and optimum usage of the CCTV system
• Monitor and operate the CCTV system, ensuring fully functioning recording, when licensed to do so.
• Report incidents or suspicious behaviour and contact the authorities when necessary.
• Detect and prevent crime and protect people.
• Keep a log of all incidents in your log book and pass it to Management.
• Monitor all contractors attempting to access the facility throughout the day and night and ensure they have been authorised by management prior to commencing any work.
• Comply with the standard hours of work or those specifically applicable to yourself, and do not be absent without permission.
• Ensure physical control of CCTV equipment during operational hours and adhere to requests by security to observe individuals/parties’ actions.
• Ensure the control room is never left unattended or unmanned unless instructed to do so by the management.
• Keep frequent contact with the security supervisor through telephone or radio contact.
• Comply with the Data Protection Act and ensure that only authorized persons are permitted in control and all sensitive information remains controlled.

Educational Qualification:

• OND, HND or BSc in relevant discipline with a strong background in security-related matters.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in a reputable organization.

Skills And Desirable Qualities: 

• Proficiency in computer usage
• Strong knowledge of CCTV systems and surveillance equipment\\
• Ability to operate, monitor, and troubleshoot recording systems
• Punctuality and adherence to assigned work hours
• Ability to remain alert during long shifts (day and night)
• Strong sense of responsibility and dependability
