Oversee the development and execution of annual and multi-year category management strategies and plans to achieve maximum lifecycle value from assigned categories.
Work in conjunction with End User department at early stage to define category management objectives and execute Go-To-Market and sourcing plan for high value and critical sourcing initiatives on an annual basis.
Co-ordinate and facilitate strategic sourcing projects, engaging key stakeholders and the required cross-functional resources • Determine key market intelligence requirements for supplier/ cost optimization and provide guidance to stakeholders on trends and strategy impacts.
Facilitate the conduct of market and supplier analysis and establishment of strategic supplier contacts in the interest of optimizing and intensifying collaboration on projects.
Apply knowledge gained from market and supplier analysis to define the best procurement negotiation and contract awarding strategy for the bank in order to achieve value for money on all procurement initiatives.
Provide mentorship, coaching and leadership for all allocated category Buyers, ensure they consistently exceed performance and drive key procurement initiatives.
Drive the realization of savings, supply efficiency, quality, risk management and process improvements in assigned category, in line with the overall Procurement strategy.
Identify saving opportunities and initiate individual projects and initiatives at all operational levels.
Coordinate the development of tender documents including the Request for Proposal/Quotation and evaluation criteria in conjunction with relevant end-user departments.
Coordinate the tendering process including the evaluation and selection of vendors and contractors. • Lead the negotiation of prices and terms (within parameters) with the preferred vendor in collaboration with the Price Monitoring Committee and End User department.
Communicate progress and outcomes of category strategies and sourcing initiatives to the Head of Procurement, and MANCO (where required).
Act as intermediary and key stakeholder in managing relationship with strategic suppliers, regularly conduct meetings with critical suppliers and ensure that relationship with supplier brings in greater value to FBN.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline Full Membership of at least one of the relevant global procurement/supply chain bodies (CIPS, CIPP, CSCP, SCMP, CPP, CPIM).
Master’s degree in supply chain, Procurement, Strategy, Management.
Experience
Minimum of 8 years in strategic procurement role (category management, strategic sourcing) with exposure to supply chain management, complex strategic sourcing and optimal procurement processes and standards.
Demonstrated performance in working within cross-functional teams, with requisite drive and energy to ensure that a challenging benefits and capability building agenda is successfully delivered.
