    Capacity Building Trainers

    Job ID: 2026-7768

    Overview

    • The MCGL Integrated Health Project, implemented by Jhpiego, aims to establish a comprehensive framework for embedding community participation, accountability, and ownership within Nigeria’s Primary Health Care (PHC) system.
    • This approach recognizes that sustainable improvements in health outcomes, particularly in Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH), nutrition, malaria, immunization, and other priority health areas, require active community engagement beyond traditional top-down service delivery models.
    • The project prioritizes strengthening the role of existing community structures such as Ward Development Committees (WDCs), Village Development Committees (VDCs), Community-Based Health Volunteers (CBHVs), and trusted community leaders including traditional and religious leaders. These structures serve as credible voices for health advocacy, community mobilization, service monitoring, and demand generation for essential health services.By institutionalizing these mechanisms, the project seeks to transform communities from passive recipients of health services into active partners in health system governance and accountability.
    • Strengthening the capacity of community actors is therefore critical to ensuring effective community engagement, improved health-seeking behavior, and timely identification and referral of health risks at the household and community levels.
    • To support these efforts, Jhpiego seeks to engage a qualified consultant to conduct a five-day capacitybuilding training for Community-Based Health Volunteers (CBHVs), MAMII Vanguard members, and CHIPS agents.
    • The training will focus on strengthening community engagement and mobilization skills while improving community-level surveillance, referral systems, and risk communication related to maternal, newborn, and child health.
