We are seeking a Camp Boss to join our team and oversee the management of camp facilities and operations for our workforce in remote locations.
The Camp Boss will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of camp facilities, coordinating activities, supervising staff members, maintaining safety protocols, and addressing any issues or concerns within the camp environment.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and leadership skills, along with experience in general maintenance, knowledge of health and safety regulations, and expertise in managing remote camp operations.
Responsibilities
Manage and oversee all aspects of camp facilities and operations in remote locations.
Coordinate and schedule activities to ensure efficient functioning of the camp.
Supervise camp staff members, including cooks, cleaners, and maintenance workers.
Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Address any issues or concerns that may arise within the camp environment promptly and effectively.
Conduct regular inspections of camp facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with regulations.
Manage inventory and supplies for camp operations, including food, equipment, and other essentials.
Coordinate with external vendors and service providers as needed for camp maintenance and support services.
Provide leadership and guidance to camp staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Keep accurate records of camp activities, expenses, and incidents for reporting purposes.
Qualifications
Previous experience in managing remote camp operations or similar facilities.
Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate activities and supervise staff effectively.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to camp environments.
Experience in general maintenance tasks required to upkeep camp facilities.
Ability to adapt to the challenges of overseeing camp operations in remote locations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
Familiarity with logistics and inventory management for camp supplies and equipment is a plus.
Proficiency in technical skills such as managing water and sewage systems, generators, and communication systems is desirable.
Relevant certifications or training in camp management, health and safety, or related fields is an advantage.
