Business Manager - Warehousing & Logistics

    About the Role

    • The Business Manager for wLaaS is a pivotal leadership role responsible for rebuilding and scaling our Warehousing & Logistics as a Service business line.
    • This individual will own the full commercial and operational mandate — from strategy to execution — leading a cross-functional team and driving sustainable revenue growth across warehousing, fulfilment, and last-mile delivery services.
    • We are looking for a commercially sharp, operationally grounded leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and has a demonstrated track record of building businesses within logistics, e-commerce, supply chain, or adjacent sectors.

    Key Responsibilities
    Team Leadership & Organisational Rebuilding:

    • Lead, manage, and grow the wLaaS team, establishing a high-performance culture aligned to business objectives.
    • Recruit and onboard key commercial talent, including a Commercial Leader, to drive sales and market expansion.
    • Set clear performance expectations, KPIs, and development plans for direct reports.

    Go-to-Market Execution:

    • Develop and execute a robust sales and demand-generation strategy to grow the customer base.
    • Identify and pursue new market opportunities across warehousing, fulfilment, and last-mile delivery.
    • Champion the wLaaS brand in the market, building awareness and positioning us as the partner of choice.

    Revenue Growth & P&L Management:

    • Own the wLaaS P&L — driving revenue, managing costs, and ensuring profitability at every stage of scaling.
    • Develop pricing strategies, commercial models, and financial forecasts in collaboration with finance leadership.
    • Monitor financial performance, implement corrective measures where needed, and report to executive leadership.

    Strategic Partnerships & Client Acquisition:

    • Identify, negotiate, and close strategic partnerships that expand service reach and competitive advantage.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
    • Lead proposals, RFP responses, and contract negotiations for major accounts.

    Operational Efficiency:

    • Ensure seamless alignment between warehousing, fulfilment, and last-mile operations with commercial commitments.
    • Define operational SLAs, service quality standards, and delivery metrics across the business line.
    • Collaborate with operations teams to resolve bottlenecks, reduce costs, and improve service reliability.

    Technology & Process Optimisation:

    • Oversee the adoption of technology solutions (WMS, TMS, tracking platforms) that enhance operational capability.
    • Drive continuous process improvement across order management, inventory control, and last-mile execution.
    • Work with technology and product teams to define tools and systems that support scalable growth.

    Qualification and Experience
    Essential:

    • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, e-commerce, or a closely related industry.
    • Proven track record in a senior commercial or general management role with full P&L ownership.
    • Demonstrated success in building and scaling teams and business units from the ground up.
    • Deep understanding of last-mile logistics, warehousing operations, and fulfilment models.
    • Strong network of industry relationships with potential clients, partners, and talent.
    • Experience leading client acquisition, contract negotiation, and key account management.

    Preferred:

    • Experience working within high-growth or turnaround business environments.
    • Familiarity with logistics technology platforms (WMS, TMS, route optimisation tools).
    • Exposure to the Nigerian or West African logistics and e-commerce market.
    • MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
