    Business & Finance Analyst

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Financial Reporting and Compliance

    • Tax Prep & Support: (1) Provide a template for books that will support improved/efficient tax reporting. (2) Support the updated corporate structure to ensure an optimized tax and employee compensation structure for exit. Deploy tax optimization strategies to achieve the target EBIDTA.
    • Ensure accurate transaction posting in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
    • Prepare and present financial dashboards and weekly channel performance reports to help leaders assess the business's performance.
    • Generate, Review and discuss management reports highlighting key financial trends and opportunities.
    • Support strategic planning with data-driven financial insights.
    • Profitability Analysis by Product & Channel
    • Analyze revenue, cost, and margin performance across products, sales channels, and departments.
    • Identify top-performing and low-performing products to guide marketing and pricing strategies.
    • Monitor financial KPIs to assess business performance.
    • Provide cost-benefit analysis for new investments, hiring, or business expansion.
    • Work with operations, marketing & sales teams to align financial goals with business objectives.

    Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)

    • Develop Financial Forecasts: Create 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year financial forecasts aligned with growth goals and exit objectives, using various scenarios.
    • Revenue and Expense Modeling: Build models that project revenue and identify major expense drivers, allowing the company to assess profitability and scalability.
    • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Define, track, and report KPIs relevant to growth (e.g., gross margin, cash flow, EBITDA) and perform regular variance analysis against budget.
    • Develop and maintain the company’s annual budget by department and function.
    • Track actual financial performance against budgeted numbers.
    • Work with department heads to establish realistic financial goals and projections.
    • Review, revise, and update budgets based on real-time business performance.

    Cash Flow Management and Optimization

    • Track daily, weekly, and monthly cash inflows and outflows.
    • Ensure the company maintains healthy liquidity for operations.
    • Forecasting & Future Cash Need
    • Develop financial forecasts for expected revenue, costs, and expenses.
    • Predict future cash flow challenges and recommend action plans.
    • Ensure adequate working capital is available for smooth operations.
    • Managing Accounts Payable & Receivable
    • Oversee timely payment of invoices and vendor contracts to maintain supplier relationships.
    • Work with accounting to optimize receivables collection and reduce outstanding balances.

    Cost Management and Process Optimization

    • Reviews and approves all POs and pays all bills under $200.
    • Ensure cost control and resource allocation align with business priorities.
    • Analyze variances between budgeted vs. actual expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
    • Prepare monthly variance reports and recommend corrective actions to management.
    • Work with vendors to renegotiate better terms to reduce COGS.
    • Track and benchmark operational expenses to industry standards.
    • Review all fixed and variable expenses and propose ways to reduce unnecessary costs.
    • Identify opportunities for automation in financial tracking and reporting.
    • Work with the accounting team to simplify and optimize financial workflows.
    • Approves all new vendor setups to prevent unauthorized edits in QBO.

    Supporting Business Decision-Making

    • Assess the financial viability of expansion into new markets, stores, distribution, or product lines.
    • Provide ROI projections for major business initiatives.
    • Work with lenders & investors to explore financing options if needed.
    • Prepare financial reports and models to support funding applications.
    • Analyze product pricing structures to maximize revenue.
    • Assess market trends and competitors to ensure competitive pricing.

    Compliance, Risk Management & Audit

    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and tax laws.
    • Identify financial risks and develop mitigation plans.
    • Work with external auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting.
    • Maintain clean financial records for tax and regulatory purposes.
    • Collaborate with CPA to optimize tax strategies.
    • Ensure all tax filings are accurate and on time.

    Collaboration with Other Departments

    • Align inventory purchases with cash flow projections.
    • Ensure smooth procurement planning without excess costs.
    • Provide budget and financial support for campaigns and product launches.
    • Help track customer acquisition costs (CAC) and marketing ROI.

    EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

    • 7+ years of relevant experience.
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, marketing, or related analytical field. Advanced degree a huge plus.
    • Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets: You should be comfortable working with spreadsheets, formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation techniques.
    • Strong financial modeling and data analysis skills.
    • Proficiency in data analytics tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms is a plus.
    • A passion for innovation and a desire to stay up-to-date on emerging technologies.
    • You should be able to approach complex data challenges with creative and practical solutions.
    • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms is a plus.
    • Effective communication skills to convey data insights and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet multiple deadlines, as well as take on projects independently or work collaboratively well.
    • close attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and the ability to take charge, set objectives, and drive results.
    • Must have excellent Internet connection, working laptop, and ability to adjust work hours to Central Standard Time (Between 9 am and 5 pm Central Standard Time).
