Job Summary
The Business Development Officer will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, driving sales growth, building strategic partnerships, and expanding the company’s market presence within the automobile industry. The role focuses on generating revenue, managing client relationships, conducting market research, and supporting the execution of business expansion strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Market Expansion
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, markets, and partnerships in the automotive sector.
- Develop and execute strategies to increase sales of vehicles, spare parts, and related automotive services.
- Assist in preparing and implementing business development plans and sales forecasts.
- Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and customer preferences to guide commercial strategies.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, government agencies, fleet managers, and distributors.
- Conduct presentations, product demonstrations, and negotiations to close deals.
- Ensure timely follow-up on leads, inquiries, and proposals with a focus on customer satisfaction.
Proposal & Contract Management
- Prepare business proposals, quotations, RFQ responses, and tender documents.
- Support contract negotiations in line with company policies.
- Track contract performance and ensure customer requirements are met.
Sales Support & Reporting
- Collaborate with production, marketing, and finance teams to align business development activities.
- Maintain accurate records of sales pipelines, prospects, and concluded deals.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly business development reports.
Brand & Market Presence
- Participate in automotive exhibitions, trade fairs, and B2B conferences.
- Recommend promotional strategies to enhance brand visibility.
- Support digital marketing efforts for product campaigns.
Requirements & Qualifications
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
- Additional certifications in Sales, Marketing, or Business Development is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ proven experience as a Business Development Officer, Sales Executive, or Commercial Officer in an automobile manufacturing or automotive-related industry.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of automobile products, manufacturing processes, vehicle components, and market structure.
- Ability to analyze market trends and generate strategic insights.
- Excellent proposal writing, reporting, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience preparing tenders and managing government/corporate accounts.
