    Business Development Manager

    JOB SUMMARY

    • We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team.
    • The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of demonstrable achievement in selling freight, customs clearing, or general logistics products.
    • The Ideal candidate will be responsible for driving business growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities, building longlasting relationships, and increasing market share in the East Africa logistics market (air and ocean).

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Identify new business opportunities and drive sales growth in the freight, customs clearing, and logistics sectors.
    • Develop and implement strategies to acquire new clients and expand services to existing customers.
    • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
    • Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer needs, industry trends, and competitive positioning.
    • Lead negotiations and close deals to secure new contracts and ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Manage the end-to-end sales cycle, from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring a high conversion rate.
    • Provide exceptional customer service and follow-up to ensure the ongoing satisfaction of clients.
    • Offer tailored solutions to meet client needs and ensure long-term retention and repeat business.
    • Leverage your thorough knowledge and understanding of the East Africa logistics market (both air and ocean) to build strategic business plans.
    • Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes that impact the logistics industry in East Africa.
    • Build a network of contacts across the region to enhance business opportunities and market intelligence.
    • Use CRM software to manage sales leads, track performance, and ensure accurate reporting of sales activity.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • At least 5 years of demonstrable experience in selling freight, customs clearing, or general logistics products.
    • Proven track record of successfully acquiring new business and achieving sales targets in the logistics, freight, or supply chain industry.
    • Hands-on experience with CRM software for managing sales pipelines, reporting, and customer interactions.
    • Deep understanding of the East African logistics market, including both air and ocean freight operations.
    • Familiarity with customs clearance processes, regulations, and trade requirements in the region.
