    Business Development Manager

    Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

    Job Description

    • The Business Development Manager will conduct research to identify leads and reach business targets through telephone, email, webinars, and in person.
    • This individual will also actively participate in the planning and execution of company marketing activities providing vital input based on his/her interactions with prospects.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Establish and build new relationships with existing and potential clients that have a prospective business that meets the company underwriting criteria
    • Maintain existing relationships in order to protect existing books of business
    • Set up meetings with new business accounts and recommend products based on their need
    • Researching organisations and individuals to identify new leads and potential new markets
    • Seek out the appropriate contact in an organization
    • Contacting potential clients via email or phone to establish rapport and set up meetings
    • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives
    • Creating and maintaining a list/database of prospect clients; maintaining a database (Salesforce, CRM, Excel, etc.) of prospective client information
    • Write bids, proposals, brochures and various other business informational letters
    • Have a good understanding of the businesses' products and services and be able to advise clients about them
    • Ensure completing the KYC for new customers and obtain all relevant documents as required by the regulator and send same to the Insurer
    • Ensure prompt receipt of all documents relating to the policy, review and deliver same to the client
    • Monitoring sales performance as relates to the company target
    • Ensuring the team meets regulatory authorities’ requirements as relates to the account being handled
    • Sell the company's policies, network at events as well as make presentations to convince clients to choose our brokerage firm for patronage
    • Keep abreast of trends and changes in the insurance sector
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Qualifications and Experience Required

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
    • At least 5 years proven work experience in a similar role with at least 2 in the insurance industry
    • Knowledge of the Insurance industry
    • Business development and marketing skills
    • Conducting market research to determine prospects
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Demonstrated commercial acumen and strong understanding of business requirements
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages
    • Proven ability to drive significant revenue generation
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
