    Business Development Manager - Gas Power

    Job Summary

    • The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving sales and market penetration of JMG’s gas generator sets. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical engineering and commercial strategy. You will be tasked with identifying new business opportunities within the industrial, oil & gas, and commercial sectors, managing complex proposal processes, and building long-term partnerships that align with JMG’s strategic growth in hybrid and gas power systems .

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Business Development & Sales

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan to increase the installation base of gas generators, targeting IPPs, manufacturing plants, and gas processing facilities .
    • Identify and generate new leads by screening potential business opportunities and selecting deals in line with JMG’s long-term strategies .
    • Drive the entire sales cycle from customer requirement analysis to delivery and aftermarket support coordination.

    Technical Solution & Proposal Management

    • Champion the development of competitive proposals and presentations for the hybrid and gas power business .
    • Manage the proposal response process for complex RFPs, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with client specifications (e.g., gas engine integration, load requirements) .
    • Collaborate with the engineering and service teams to clarify technical questions and provide tailored solutions for clients .

    Market Intelligence & Analysis

    • Monitor industry trends, customer drivers, and competitor activities within the gas power generation sector .
    • Conduct market research to identify new applications for gas generators and positioning strategies against competitors.
    • Track procurement opportunities and provide guidance on pre-bid intelligence gathering .

    Relationship Management

    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including C-level executives, project managers, and government stakeholders .
    • Develop and maintain partnerships with EPC contractors, gas distribution companies, and industrial clients.
    • Resolve client complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendations to management .

    Reporting & Collaboration

    • Prepare and submit periodic sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis to branch and regional managers .
    • Work closely with the marketing team to coordinate strategies and participate in trade exhibitions and industry events to maintain professional and technical knowledge 

    Qualifications and Requirements

    Educational Background

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Business Management with a strong technical background .
    • An MBA or Master’s degree in a related field is an added advantage .

    Professional Experience

    • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in B2B sales within the power generation industry.
    • At least 5 years of specific experience in gas generators, hybrid power projects, or gas engine sales .
    • Proven track record of successful negotiation and closing of high-value capital equipment sales .

    Technical & Core Competencies

    • Strong technical knowledge of gas generator sets, cogeneration, and hybrid system integration .
    • Demonstrated mastery of sales techniques, strategic selling, and long-cycle business development .
    • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite .
    • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex technical data to non-technical stakeholders .

    Key Attributes

    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage resources effectively.
    • High attention to detail and deadline-oriented .
    • Strong analytical skills for financial forecasting and business-value analysis .
    • Willingness to travel extensively within the region to meet clients and prospect for new business.
