    Business Development Manager

    Job Summary

    • This senior role bridges the gap between world-class engineering capabilities and new business opportunities, building brand authority and a structured sales pipeline across multiple sectors in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute a 12–36-month business development strategy aligned with regional expansion.
    • Identify high-value opportunities across solution pillars including BMS, Smart Hospitality, Energy Management, Home Automation & AV, Safety & Security, and Green Building Certifications.
    • Build and maintain a structured, data-driven sales pipeline using CRM tools.
    • Set quarterly and annual revenue, margin, and pipeline coverage targets.
    • Lead integrated marketing programs to establish industry thought leadership.
    • Develop content assets: case studies, white papers, technical presentations, and solution briefs.
    • Enhance digital presence via website content, LinkedIn thought leadership, and targeted campaigns.
    • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
    • Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, proposals, negotiation, and contract closure.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, C-suite executives, and decision-makers.
    • Implement consultative selling methodologies to demonstrate measurable ROI.
    • Conduct quarterly business reviews and develop account expansion strategies.
    • Deepen relationships with OEMs and identify new technology partnerships.
    • Develop alliances with consultants, EPC contractors, property developers, and facility management companies.
    • Support operational expansion, pricing strategy, and commercial models across Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa.

    Personal Specifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical, Control & Instrumentation, Building Services Engineering, or a related technical field.
    • MBA or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Project Management is a plus.
    • Minimum 7 years of business development, sales, or commercial management experience in building automation, ELV systems, energy management, MEP, or system integration.
    • Proven track record of winning and managing technical project sales (deal values ₦200M+ or equivalent).
    • Experience developing marketing strategies and preparing technical-commercial proposals.
    • Proficient in CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent) and digital marketing/digital tools.
    • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
    • Familiarity with BMS platforms (Schneider EcoStruxure, Honeywell Niagara, Siemens Desigo) is an advantage.
    • Sales methodology certifications (SPIN, Challenger, MEDDIC) are desirable.
    • Existing professional network across Nigerian hospitality, real estate, oil & gas, manufacturing, or banking sectors.
    • Experience building and leading a small commercial or sales team.
    • Willingness to travel 30–40% across Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa.
