    Business Development Manager

    Due to our expansion to Nigeria and Africa, we are hiring a Business Development Manager to source accounts in this new sales territory to build and customise this product to meet the upsell needs of Hotels, Short-lets and Tour/Activity providers to upsell products directly to their customers.

    To excel in this role, you should be an active listener, have a compelling sales personality, and a hunger to chase and close new.

    Responsibilities

    Aa a professional, you will have three primary responsibilities:

    • Identifying new sales leads and their upsell problems
    • Pitching products and implementation to help solve their upsell challenges
    • Maintaining fruitful relationships with customers through out the build process

    When it comes to generating leads, day-to-day duties typically include:

    • Researching organisations and individuals to identify their upsell problems of new leads and potential new markets
    • Researching the needs of other companies and learning who makes decisions about purchasing
    • Contacting potential clients via email or phone to establish rapport and set up meetings
    • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives
    • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events

    When it comes to the challenges of actually selling, other typical duties include:

    • Preparing PowerPoint presentations and sales displays
    • Contacting clients to inform them about new developments in the company’s product
    • Developing quotes and proposals, including implementation cost, support cost, licencing fee, etc.
    • Negotiating and renegotiating by phone, email, and in person
    • Developing sales goals for the team and ensuring they are met
    • Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills

    Of course, as with all office jobs, documentation is also a big part of the work. The ideal candidate will be obligated to write reports and provide feedback to upper management about what is and is not working.

    Skills

    The ideal candidate must be:

    • Have a strong experience of the Hospitality or Hotel sector
    • Socially adept
    • Good with numbers
    • Able to provide quality leadership to a large team of sales people

    The skills you need to excel in this position include:

    • Strong communication and IT fluency
    • Creative talents and the ability to solve tough problems
    • In-depth knowledge of the industry and its current events
    • The ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
    • Skill in prioritising and triaging obligations
    • Attention to detail
    • Excellent time management and organisation

    Education and Career

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field.
    • Experience in sales, marketing or related field.
    • Strong communication skills and IT fluency.
    • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
    • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
    • Comfortable using a computer for various tasks.

    Scope and Budget:

    • Three months contract job with the opportunity of renewal and or permanent position based on performance
    • 5% Commission on implementation cost for every successful onboarding.
