    Business Development Lead

    Job Description

    • As a Business Development Lead, you will own the KPIs for Acquisition, Retention and Revenue in Nigeria from both the B2B and B2C channels.
    • The job holder will collaborate with the product, merchant services and marketing teams to conceive, manage, analyze and optimize various initiatives and/or products that drive partner acquisition and growth.
    • The candidate must be comfortable working with technology to manage the sales teams as well as to support and service customers.
    • They must show a proven track record of managing high-performing field/digital teams at scale, to deliver on key metrics.

    Key Responsibilities:

    B2C Channel

    • Responsibility to achieve the acquisition, growth and revenue business objectives for multiple cities in Nigeria
    • Provide vision and leadership to the sales team while building a high performance, innovative and results-driven sales organization 
    • Own key KPIs for the portfolio, including number of borrowers, retained borrowers, average drawdowns, and default rate.
    • Distill KPIs down to the  agent level, while ensuring that they are achieved.
    • Build framework for operations of the sales  team.
    • Build and manage training, hiring, onboarding and compensation processes for the sales team.
    • Utilize allocated resources to achieve business objectives.
    • Work with the product team to utilize channels for acquisition and expansion of borrowers.
    • Leverage partnerships with Co-operatives and such organizations as key channels.
    • Ensure all staff comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements and, where appropriate, best practices.

    B2B Channel

    • Set goals and develop plans for customer acquisition, retention and revenue growth
    • Research, plan, and implement new target market initiatives
    • Pursue leads and move them through the sales cycle
    • Develop proposals and partnership agreements for prospective clients
    • Collaborate with the product growth and marketing teams to create marketing campaigns that drive growth in terms of user acquisition and retention
    • Experiment with various channels for organic growth, bringing in innovative ideas and discovering new opportunities for increasing traffic as well as retention
    • Support the ongoing analysis of business performance required to inform marketing and product development decisions on a day-to-day basis

    Required Qualifications:

    • Degree or HND or equivalent
    • 5-7 years’ hands-on experience in leading e-business, enterprise sales, sales operations and relationship management, preferably in financial services, insurance, technology 
    • Experience in leading and managing B2B and B2C sales channels across multiple cities
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
    • Ability to work quickly and flexibly, where things move rapidly and are inclined to change based on result
    • Proven track record in managing multiple field teams simultaneously. 
    • Experience with informal retailers on the field, especially in financial services or insurance
