    Business Development Executive

    Responsibilities
    Lead Generation & Prospecting:

    • Research and identify companies, schools, cooperatives, online businesses, and tech startups with recurring airtime/data needs or API use cases.
    • Use platforms like LinkedIn, Google, Twitter, Nairaland, WhatsApp groups, and forums to find and qualify potential partners.
    • Build and maintain a pipeline of warm leads using CRM tools or tracking sheets.

    Outreach & Pitching:

    • Reach out to decision-makers via email, DMs, calls, or referrals.
    • Craft and send tailored pitch decks highlighting Plug.ng’s value for businesses (cost savings, APIs, automation).
    • Schedule and host demo sessions, showcasing features like bulk data top-up, APIs, wallet system, and agent opportunities.

    Relationship Management:

    • Onboard organizations smoothly and ensure their first experience is seamless.
    • Serve as the ongoing account contact - respond to queries, check in regularly, and ensure they stay active.
    • Track usage patterns and recommend upsell opportunities.

    Partnership Development:

    • Identify communities or influencers (e.g. YouTubers, dev communities, betting clubs) with aligned needs.
    • Propose co-branded campaigns or Plug-branded landing pages for their users.
    • Work with marketing to develop support materials (e.g. PDF brochures, explainer videos, coupons).

    Market Intelligence:

    • Research and report on competitors like ClubKonnect, VTU.ng, Dataway, etc.
    • Provide insights on:
    • Their pricing
    • Their APIs and ease of integration
    • Key customer base and gaps Plug.ng can fill
    • Recommend product or positioning tweaks based on trends.

    Reporting & Targets:

    • Track weekly activities: demos booked, businesses contacted, deals closed.
    • Forecast potential revenue from leads and actual usage by onboarded clients.
    • Provide monthly growth reports and feedback loops to Brand & Product teams.

    Other Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with the tech team to test or improve business onboarding flows (e.g., Plug for Business sign-up).
    • Train client company staff on how to use Plug.ng effectively.
    • Represent Plug.ng at offline events or small business expos (if applicable).

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
    • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Business Development Executive
    • Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or related roles
    • Strong understanding of sales principles and techniques, with the ability to negotiate and close deals effectively.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
    • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients at all levels, demonstrating professionalism and integrity.
    • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing business opportunities.
    • Highly organized with strong time management skills, able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software.
