Brooding Pen Supervisor at JNO Integrated Services

Job Summary

• We are seeking a diligent and experienced Brooding Pen Supervisor to oversee the brooding of day-old chicks and ensure optimal conditions for their healthy growth and development.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily operations within the brooding pen, supervising attendants, and ensuring strict adherence to biosecurity and welfare standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all activities within the brooding pen.
• Monitor the health, feeding, and overall welfare of chicks.
• Ensure proper temperature, ventilation, lighting, and hygiene are maintained.
• Keep accurate daily records of mortality, feed intake, weight gain, and medication.
• Coordinate the timely vaccination and medication schedules.
• Train and supervise pen attendants on best practices and safety protocols.
• Ensure biosecurity measures are strictly followed.
• Report abnormalities or health concerns promptly to the Farm Manager or Vet.
• Maintain inventory of brooding supplies and request replenishment when necessary.

Requirements

• OND / HND / BSc in Animal Science, Agriculture, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in poultry brooding or livestock supervision.
• Strong knowledge of poultry management, especially in the early brooding stage.
• Attention to detail and a passion for animal welfare.
• Ability to manage a team and work under pressure.
• Good recordkeeping and communication skills.
