Brand Designer at Jumia Nigeria

We are seeking a dedicated graphic designer to join our company. You will collaborate with other designers to create effective and eye-catching images and campaigns to increase our user base. As a graphic designer, we hope you can put your passion for design to create beautiful images and compelling content. An ideal candidate would run the process of defining requirements, visualizing and creating graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts and photos. To be successful in this position, you’ll be a self-starter, capable of delivering brilliant creative ideas, and show amazing attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Study design briefs and determine requirements
• Schedule projects and define budget constraints
• Conceptualize visuals based on requirements
• Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
• Collaborate with fellow designers to develop new approaches for creating more-expressive graphics for the company
• Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using software or by hand
• Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic
• Manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions
• Work with copywriters and creative director to produce final design
• Test graphics across various media
• Amend designs after feedback
• Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand

Requirements and skills

• A minimum of 3 years experience as a graphics designer
• Expert level in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and XD
• A strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics
• A keen eye for aesthetics and details
• Ability to conceptualize, ideate, design and format marketing materials in all media while ensuring consistency
• Basic photo edit, retouch and manipulation skill
• Excellent communication skills
• Great sense of typography and its heirarchy
• Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
• Exceptional creativity and innovation
• Quick understanding of guidelines and briefs
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with HTML and CSS preferred
