    Branch Manager – Generator Sales Division

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking an experienced, business-oriented, and results-driven Branch Manager to lead our Generator Sales Division in Lagos.
    • The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the branch's Performance (P&L). This role requires a strategic leader who can deploy aggressive sales strategies, manage key accounts, oversee branch operations, and lead a high-performing team to maximize revenue, client retention, and market share in the power generation sector.
    • You will act as a consultant to major clients while ensuring the branch operates efficiently and profitably.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan for the branch to achieve and exceed annual revenue and profitability targets.
    • Identify new market segments, geographical opportunities, and business channels (industrial, commercial, telecom, marine, and residential).
    • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform product mix and pricing strategies specific to the region.
    • Spearhead B2B and B2C sales initiatives, building a robust pipeline of opportunities.
    • Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key high-value clients, including OEMs, EPC contractors, industrial plants, and major distributors.
    • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of Sales Executives, Sales Engineers, and support staff.
    • Set clear individual and team targets, monitor performance using KPIs, and provide regular coaching and feedback.
    • Foster a high-performance, customer-centric, and collaborative team culture.
    • Collaborate with the Technical Service team to resolve complex customer technical queries and ensure proper after-sales support.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
    • Manage the branch’s P&L, including budgeting, cost control, and expense management.
    • Prepare accurate sales reports, market intelligence reports, and inventory forecasts for senior management.
    • Monitor key performance indicators such as sales growth, profitability margin, market share, and inventory turnover.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
    • An MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is a strong advantage.
    • 7 - 10 years of sales experience, with at least 3 - 5 years in a senior managerial or branch management role.
    • Must have proven experience in the power generation industry, specifically with diesel generator sets (e.g., Perkins, Caterpillar, Cummins, MTU, Volvo) and aftermarket parts.
    • Demonstrable track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and managing P&L.
    • Strong technical understanding of generator sets, their subsystems (engine, alternator, controller), and spare parts categorization.
    • Experience with CRM software and ERP systems.
