    Bookstore Manager

    About the Role:

    • The Bookstore Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the bookstore, ensuring excellent customer service, driving sales performance, and maintaining proper inventory management. The role requires a proactive leader who can manage store staff, ensure operational efficiency, and create a welcoming environment for customers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Store Operations

    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the bookstore.
    • Ensure the store is well organized, clean, and visually appealing at all times.
    • Supervise the opening and closing procedures of the store.
    • Ensure all operational policies and procedures are followed.

    Sales & Revenue Growth

    • Drive store sales and ensure monthly sales targets are achieved.
    • Monitor daily sales performance and implement strategies to improve sales.
    • Promote new arrivals, featured books, and special offers.
    • Identify opportunities to increase foot traffic and customer engagement.

    Team Leadership

    • Supervise, train, and support bookstore assistants and other store staff.
    • Create staff schedules and ensure adequate store coverage.
    • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
    • Monitor staff performance and provide feedback where necessary.

    Customer Experience

    • Ensure customers receive excellent service at all times.
    • Handle customer complaints or escalations professionally.
    • Maintain a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits.

    Inventory Management

    • Oversee stock management and ensure accurate inventory levels.
    • Coordinate stock receiving, shelving, and restocking.
    • Conduct regular stock checks and report discrepancies.
    • Ensure proper merchandising and book display.

    Reporting & Administration

    • Prepare and submit sales and operational reports to management.
    • Track store performance and identify areas for improvement.
    • Maintain proper documentation and records.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree or HND in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
    • 3–5 years experience in retail, preferably in bookstores, publishing, or similar retail environments.
    • At least 1–2 years experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
    • Strong leadership and people management skills.
    • Strong sales and customer service orientation.
    • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office or retail POS systems.

    Work Schedule:

    9am- 6pm with atleast 2 Saturdays in a month.
