Backend Developer at Proliance Limited

Objective
To design, implement and maintain functional and secure applications and back-end services to meet overall business and technological objectives.

Duties, Responsibilities and Authorities

• Participate
• Write clean code to develop functional web applications
• Troubleshoot and debug applications
• Perform UI tests to optimize performance
• Manage cutting-edge technologies to improve legacy applications
• Collaborate with Front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
• Gather and address technical and design requirements
• Provide training and support to internal teams
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use
• Liaise with developers, designers, and system administrators to identify new features
• Follow emerging technologies
• Other functions as directed by the Managing Partner

Educational Qualification

• Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Science or Engineering.

Professional Qualifications:

• Any relevant professional certificate is an added advantage

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 Years Experience in a similar role

Knowledge Requirements:

• Back-End Programming Language: A strong command of programming languages is crucial. Knowledge of programming languages like Java, Ruby, PHP, and Python
• Databases: Knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) for non-relational data storage and retrieval. In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment)
• APIs (Application Programming Interfaces): Knowledge of the design, build, and consumption of APIs.
• Server Management: A good understanding of server architecture, deployment, and maintenance.
• Version Control (Git): Proficiency in Git for collaborative development.
• Web Servers: Knowledge of web servers like Apache, Nginx, or Microsoft IIS in handling requests and serving web pages.
• Front-End Basics: Understanding front-end basic technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) I other to collaborate actively with front-end developers.
• Security Practices: Knowledge of authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure coding practices.
• Testing and Debugging: Proficiency in testing tools and debugging techniques is essential.
