Aviation Security Screener at Halogen Group

Job Summary:

• The Aviation Security Screener is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of air passengers, cargo, and crew by conducting thorough screening processes in accordance with national and international aviation security standards. Operating in a high-risk oil and gas environment, this role helps prevent the entry of prohibited items into aircraft and ensures compliance with security protocols at company-operated aviation facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Screen passengers, baggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and manual checks as per company and aviation regulations.
• Conduct pat-downs and secondary screening procedures professionally and respectfully when necessary.
• Verify identification documents, boarding passes, and access credentials.
• Ensure no unauthorized items or persons are allowed into restricted or secure aviation areas.
• Monitor and respond to alarms from screening equipment.
• Maintain screening logs, security checklists, and incident reports.
• Report suspicious behavior, security breaches, or violations immediately to the supervisor.
• Comply with ICAO, NCAA, and other relevant regulatory body guidelines and company aviation security policies.
• Participate in regular drills, refresher training, and certification programs.
• Assist in escorting VIPs, high-risk cargo, or aviation personnel as required.

Key Requirements:

Education & Certification:

• Minimum of a Diploma or Degree is an advantage.
• Certified Aviation Security Screener (AVSEC) by the NCAA or any ICAO-recognized training institute is mandatory.
• X-ray interpretation training and current AVSEC license are required.
• First Aid and HSE certifications are an added advantage.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2–3 years in aviation or transport security roles.
• Experience in aviation security screening at heliports, private terminals, or commercial airports is preferred.
• Prior work in the oil and gas sector or remote site air operations is an asset.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong attention to detail and high level of integrity.
• Good knowledge of aviation security threats and prohibited items.
• Physically fit and able to work long shifts or rotational schedules.
• Familiar with use of X-ray machines, walk-through metal detectors, and handheld scanners.
• Ability to follow strict procedures and maintain composure under pressure.
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills, especially during direct interactions with passengers.
