Audit Trainee at Matog Consulting

We are seeking motivated and detail-orientated individuals to join our audit team as audit trainees. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for recent graduates or career changers looking to build a career in auditing. No prior audit experience is required — full training will be provided

Key Responsibilities

External Audit (Public Accounting Firms)

• Assist in planning and executing audit engagements
• Participate in risk assessments and internal control testing
• Prepare working papers and verify accuracy and completeness of source documents and supporting records
• Assist in preparing simple financial statements or reviewing client-prepared statements
• Use digital tools to improve audit efficiency

Internal Audit (Corporates & Retail)

• Assist in auditing various departments to check compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations
• Participate in inventory counts, cash reconciliations, and sales record verification
• Identify operational risks and recommend internal control improvements
• General Consulting, Sub-Matter Expertise, Tax, Advisory

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Economics, or related field (in progress or completed)

Experience

• No prior audit experience required — open to fresh graduates and career changers

Skills

• Analytical thinking and strong attention to detail
• Proficiency in Excel and basic office software
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to learn auditing standards

Salary Range

• Region/Company    Monthly Salary
• Nigeria (entry-level)    ₦80,000 – ₦100,000
