    Associate Manager, Finance

    Purpose of the position 

    • The Associate Manager, Finance duties will prepare the financial statements, reports, and forecasts for the business to ensure financial stability, be well acquainted with governmental regulation and attend day-to-day technical finance requests for purchase orders, making budgets, etc. in the interest of the organization.
    • This role will report to the Manager, Finance.

    What you’ll do 

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned:

    • Analyze Historical and current financial data to understand the organization’s financial condition
    • Analyze processes to identify gaps that can improve cost-effectiveness of the projects
    • Works closely with the programs team and develops activity based forecasts for eHA projects using eHA budgeting and forecasting tools 
    • Updates the project monthly financial forecasts with any revisions to projected expenditures for both sub-awards and the prime awards, with an aim of supporting informed business decision-making by Management.
    • Provides support across all eHA projects to prepare spending and variance analysis to identify monthly trends, flag potential issues, and recommend actions with an in-depth budget commentary on deviations from project budgets.
    • Tracks key financial performance indicators for projects
    • Works collaboratively with grants and programs team to request donors for budget realignments
    • Works closely with the Finance Manager for conducting the Monthly Project Financial Review (MPFR) for eHA projects and supports with the provision of financial recommendations and advice to the management
    • Monitor expenditure and spending, and ensure they are in line with the donor approved budget.
    • Follow up on collection of receivables from donors to ensure that receivables remain as low as possible.
    • Supports Finance manager in developing and maintaining budgeting and financial forecasting tools
    • Ensure timely preparation of Fund Utilization reports for Donors

    Who you are

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to successfully perform this job.

    • Master's or Bachelors degree from a college or university in Finance and Accounting, Statistics, Business Administration or any other related field. 
    • Minimum of five (05) years of broad financial experience, ideally managing finance (accounting, budgeting, control, reporting, and grants) for a complex global nonprofit organization with multiple funding sources, including the US government, other country governments, the European Union, UN, and foundations.
    • Good knowledge of financial planning & management,  accounting and budget holding principles, tax compliance & planning.
    • Proficient with Oracle, SAGE, SAP, QuickBooks or other accounting software packages.
    • Good knowledge of financial management and accounting and budget holding principles.
    • Experience in developing budgets and financial reports (including for donors), strategic planning, and providing guidance and support to non-finance staff
    • Ability to work with large datasets
    • Excellent reporting, presenting and communication skill
    • High analytical skills, including advanced excel skills
    • Knowledge of corporate finance, information analysis and financial diagnosis
    • Ability to coordinate and work with diverse personalities
    • Result oriented and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, talent management, team work, time management and organizational skills and great attention to detail. 
    • Must be able to work as a leader and member of a team and possess good problem-solving skills.
    • Good learning ability.
    • Action-oriented and resilient in a fast-paced environment
    • Familiarity with the types of development and humanitarian programs eHA conducts.
    • Demonstrated passion for Relief International’s mission, cultural sensitivity and comfort in interfacing with leaders in all parts of the world.
    • Strong work ethic, customer service orientation and willingness to roll-up sleeves when necessary; strive for continuous improvement.
    • Willingness to travel to countries where eHA operates.
