Line Manager: Mooring Master (MM)

Job Summary

• Assisting MM during export operations.
• AMM shall ensure that operation is executed in accordance with international marine rules, OCIMF recommendations and good seaman ship practice.
• Ensure that all required permits were obtained, to connect and disconnect export hose.
• Shall ensure the operation is planned and executed with good workmanship and in accordance with approved work procedures.
• Ensure that mooring system and export hose areas are as per required standard and in good condition.

Key Responsibilities
During Tanker Mooring / Unmooring Operations:

• Assist and provide guidance to tanker crew on the appropriate locations for tugboat connection bollards, and coordinate tugboat cast-off under instruction of Mooring Master.
• Continuously monitor the tanker’s position, heading, and speed relative to the FPSO and keep Mooring Master informed.
• Assist and provide guidance to tanker crew during hawser connection and disconnection, ensuring a safe operation.

Export Hose Connection / Disconnection:

• Assist and provide guidance to tanker crew on hose connection / disconnection using dedicated offload toolbox equipment.

During Station Keeping and Offloading:

• Continuously monitor the relative position, heading, and movement of the tanker with regards to FPSO.
• Monitor hawser tension and environmental conditions, including wind, waves, current, and visibility, and inform the MM if there is any doubt. Limits are set in the Terminal Handbook.
• Maintain a continuous watch on the bridge and coordinate the use of tugboats to maintain tankers within established operating limits.
• Maintain close communication with Mooring Master, tanker crew, tugboats, and relevant FPSO personnel throughout the operation.
• Immediately inform Mooring Master of any abnormal movement, excessive mooring loads, deterioration in weather conditions, equipment malfunction, or other unsafe conditions.

Requirements
Certificates Training:

• Chief Mate Certificate, STCW95 – Reg. II/2 and flag state endorsement of recognition.

• Have completed approved education and training and meet the standard of competence specified in section A-II/2 of the STCW code for master and chief mates on ships of 3000 gross tonnage or more.
• Excellent command in English written and spoken.

Professional Qualifications:

• Meet requirements for certification as an officer in charge of a navigational watch on ships of 500 gross tonnage and have at least 12 months approved seagoing service in that capacity.
• Familiarity with Colregs and knowledge of SBM and tandems operations is necessary.
• The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of Bridge management and ECDIS.
