    Assistant Manager

    Purpose of the Position

    • The Impact Measurement Unit ensures eHealth Africa’s programs are strategically guided, data-driven, and results-focused. It develops frameworks to measure progress, assess impact, and capture lessons learned, strengthening program effectiveness. Collaborating with teams, partners, and donors, Impact Measurement designs evaluation strategies, monitors performance, conducts research, and translates data into actionable insights, fostering efficiency, accountability, and innovation.
    • The Associate Manager, Impact Measurement plays a critical role in bridging strategic planning with evidence-based practice across eHealth Africa's programs. This role supports the development and operationalization of frameworks that evaluate long-term program outcomes, enhance data quality, and provide insight into organizational impact. Working closely with program, Impact Measurement, and business development teams, the Associate Manager supports decision-making by generating, synthesizing, and communicating results and findings from across program areas.

    What you’ll do

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned:

    • Design and refine impact measurement frameworks that align with theories of change and strategic objectives, ensuring a structured approach to evaluating program effectiveness.
    • Analyze complex datasets to assess long-term program outcomes, identifying trends and insights that inform evidence-based decision-making.
    • Translate impact findings into actionable recommendations, ensuring alignment with donor expectations, global standards, and organizational priorities.
    • Integrate impact measurement into program design, reporting, and business development efforts, fostering a data-driven approach to strategy and execution.
    • Collaborate with program leads and Impact Measurement team members to ensure consistent data utilization and strategic alignment across initiatives.
    • Engage donors, partners, and evaluation stakeholders in understanding and leveraging impact findings to enhance program effectiveness and funding opportunities.
    • Support proposal development by incorporating impact-focused content, including key metrics, baseline assessments, and evaluation strategies that strengthen funding applications.
    • Contribute to the external dissemination of impact results through reports, publications, and presentations, ensuring transparency and knowledge sharing.
    • Develop learning materials, briefs, and case studies that highlight organizational impact, fostering continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement.
    • Ensure the high-quality, timely production of impact reports and program learning outputs, maintaining accuracy and relevance in documentation.
    • Maintain a comprehensive database of impact indicators, findings, and lessons learned, supporting ongoing refinement and strategic decision-making.

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to successfully perform this job.

    • Impact Measurement & Evaluation: Expertise in developing and refining impact frameworks, theories of change, logic models, and evaluation strategies aligned with organizational goals.
    • Data Analysis & Interpretation: Proficient in analyzing complex quantitative and qualitative datasets to identify trends, measure outcomes, and generate actionable insights.
    • Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL): Strong grounding in MEL practices, including indicator development, baseline and endline assessments, and adaptive learning.
    • Strategic Reporting & Storytelling: Ability to distill technical findings into clear, compelling narratives and recommendations aligned with donor and stakeholder expectations.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Master’s degree in Public Health, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, and/or impact measurement roles, including at least 2–3 years in a technical leadership or coordination capacity within NGOs, development agencies, or donor-funded projects.
    • Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., STATA, R, SPSS) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
    • Familiarity with outcome harvesting, Most Significant Change (MSC), or other participatory evaluation techniques.

    Certifications and Licenses

    • PRINCE 2, PMP, CSM certifications or the equivalent are desired
