Assistant Librarian at Dominion University

Job Summary

• The University Library invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Librarian. The successful candidate will support the effective delivery of library and information services to the University community.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in cataloguing, classification and organization of library resources.
• Support circulation services, including lending, returns and user registration.
• Provide basic reference and research assistance to students and staff.
• Assist users in accessing electronic resources and databases.
• Participate in user education and information literacy programmes.
• Maintain library records and support stock management activities.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A good Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science (LIS).
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant post-qualification experience.
• Evidence of registration with the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) will be an added advantage.
• Basic ICT proficiency and familiarity with library operations.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
