Assistant Laboratory Technician at Ascentech Services Limited

Job Summary

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and hardworking Assistant Laboratory Technician to support laboratory operations within our agro-industrial facility.
• The successful candidate will assist with sample collection, preparation, basic laboratory testing, documentation, and maintenance of laboratory equipment while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in collecting and preparing samples of raw materials, production materials, and finished products for laboratory analysis.
• Conduct basic laboratory tests under the supervision of the Laboratory Technician or Quality Control Officer.
• Label, record, and properly store samples and test results.
• Assist with the preparation and cleaning of laboratory equipment and work areas.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
• Support quality control activities and ensure samples are handled according to established procedures.
• Report abnormal results, contamination, or other quality issues to the supervisor.
• Follow all laboratory, health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Assist with inventory and proper storage of laboratory reagents and materials.

Requirements

• Minimum of OND/SSCE in Science, Laboratory Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant laboratory or agro-industry experience.
• Experience in an agro-processing, feed mill, food processing, or agricultural laboratory is an added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and sample handling.
• Good attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to work in a production/agro-industrial environment.
