    Assistant Finance Manager

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
    • Support the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
    • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity requirements to ensure operational efficiency.
    • Prepare and review bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations.
    • Analyze financial performance and prepare management reports with actionable recommendations.
    • Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax laws and statutory reporting requirements, including VAT, WHT, PAYE, Company Income Tax, and other regulatory filings.
    • Coordinate and support internal and external audit processes, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain sound internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
    • Monitor operating expenses and identify opportunities for cost optimization and improved financial performance.
    • Support treasury management activities, including banking relationships, payments, and cash management.
    • Supervise finance team members, providing guidance, coaching, and performance support.
    • Liaise with auditors, financial institutions, regulatory agencies, and other external stakeholders.
    • Ensure accurate fixed asset accounting, inventory accounting, and financial record maintenance.
    • Support ERP implementation, financial systems enhancement, and process improvement initiatives.
    • Prepare financial models and business analyses to support management decision-making.
    • Ensure timely month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
    • Perform any other finance-related duties assigned by management.

    Key Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
    • ACA, ACCA, or an equivalent professional qualification (Mandatory).
    • 8–10 years of finance and accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
    • Experience in the Oil & Gas, Energy, Manufacturing, or FMCG sector is an advantage.
    • Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, financial reporting, budgeting, and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Sage, or Microsoft Dynamics).
    • Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
