Application Security Engineer (FinTech / Cryptocurrency) at Black Pen Recruitment

Responsibilities

• Work is typically performed under minimal to no supervision, with only guidance about overall goals and objectives.
• Perform security design reviews of our products, services, and applications.
• Assist in Vulnerability Assessments of our products and applications.
• Assist in Penetration Testing of our products and applications.
• Use code analysis tools to identify, track and resolve security issues.
• Identify and recommend fixes to security bugs across the entire software inventory.
• Participate in application threat modelling exercises.
• Educate software engineers on coding best practices and the latest attack vectors.
• Identify opportunities for automation in our testing workflows.
• Evangelize Application Security.
• Work closely with the development and product teams.

Requirements

• 5 + years of experience in application security or software development
• Must be able to prioritize work based on evaluation of short term and long-term goals of the department and team.
• Able to independently evaluate processes, identify areas of improvement, and incorporate into overall work objectives.
• Solid understanding of common web, and mobile application technologies, languages, and frameworks
• Thorough knowledge of common software vulnerabilities and a strong understanding of methods to identify and remediate vulnerabilities
• Experience with at least one high-level language 
• Experience with common security testing software such as web proxies, network monitoring tools, and penetration testing tools
• Exposure to security testing, or secure code review.
