Role Description

• The Android Developer role at SBSC Nigeria is a contract position based on-site in Ikeja. In this role, the developer will design, build, and maintain high-quality Android applications, ensuring performance, reliability, and responsiveness. Daily tasks include implementing user interfaces following Android design guidelines, integrating APIs and backend services, writing clean and testable code, and troubleshooting bugs and performance issues. The developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in code reviews, and contribute to the continuous improvement of mobile development practices and standards. The role also involves staying current with Android development trends and recommending enhancements to existing applications.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Mobile Application Development and working with Mobile Applications, with a focus on delivering user-centered solutions.
• Proficiency in Android Development and Android Design, including experience with modern UI components and design patterns.
• Solid foundation in Software Development principles, including object-oriented programming, version control, and testing.
• Experience with Kotlin and/or Java, Android SDK, Android Studio, and RESTful API integration.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and collaborative development practices.
• Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with the capacity to debug and optimize application performance.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work constructively with product managers, designers, and other engineers on-site.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
