Accountant at Vodstra Limited

An esteemed transportation Company based in Lagos, with branches spanning Nigeria and the west coast, is seeking young and skilled Accountant to become part of their team

Responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the Management and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
2. Ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures
3. Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions
4. Follow up with the Managers to ensure timely reconciliation of accounts and recovery of cash
5. maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash
6. Reconcile bank and investment accounts
7. Present weekly and monthly financial reports to Management
8. Use the financial data presented to forecast trends in the business and advise Management accordingly
9. Prepare the annual budget in consultation with the appropriate persons
10. Assist the Head of Finance to provide accurate and timely reporting on the financial activity of individual projects

Candidate Profile

1. Professionally qualified and practicing Accountant with at least 7-10 years post-qualification experience.
2. Proficient in the use of accounting/Financial packages.
3. Competencies for financial management:
4. Preference will be given to applicants who have prior experience with QuickBooks.
5. Applicant should possess professional qualifications
6. Prior experience in the logistics industry is an added advantage
