This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Lagos.
The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including posting journal entries, maintaining general ledgers, and ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions.
The role includes preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank accounts, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.
The Accountant will monitor cash flow, assist with tax computations and filings, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies.
The role also involves preparing internal reports for management, supporting audits, improving financial processes and controls, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
Strong core accounting skills, including general ledger management, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes.
Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups), and comfort working with financial data and spreadsheets.
Knowledge of local tax regulations, compliance requirements, and relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or GAAP).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with non-finance colleagues and present financial information clearly.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
Previous experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably in manufacturing, FMCG, or a similar industry; interest in sustainability and environmental stewardship is a plus.
