    Accountant

    Summary

    • Our client is seeking an experience Accountant to manage the accounting department in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures, manage day to day transaction of the cashiers, investigate variances/discrepancies

    Principal Accountabilities

    • Preparing periodic financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis, annual report and commentaries.
    • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentations
    • Compile information for internal and external auditors, as required.
    • Maintains company’s confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
    • Prepares, develops and analyses key financial information to ensure that an organization’s management makes well-informed decisions to ensure future stability, growth and profitability.
    • Establish and maintain financial policies and management information systems, as well as provide a high quality support service by liaising with management, colleagues on all aspects of finance.
    • Analyze the performance of the business and advice on how to pre-empt problems, adapt to changing circumstances and improve value.
    • Review and track supplier invoices, ensure detailed and accurate information is provided.
    • Maintain and update accounting records in a timely manner
    • Monitor and record daily sales
    • Accurately record financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments to clients, sellers and suppliers.
    • Reconcile bank statements and resolve any sales discrepancies and POS payments, and cash transfers for items purchased
    • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
    • Secure financial information by completing database backups.

    Qualifications

    • B.Sc /  HND in Accountancy
    • 5 years’ experience in accounting related job
    • Previous experience working in a supermarket
    • ICAN is an added advantage
    • Proficiency in MS Excel and other accounting software
    • The ability to multi-task and meet deadlines is required.
    • Strong attention to details and accuracy in data entry
    • Thorough knowledge of and ability to apply extensive expertise to complex principles and practices of fiscal management.
    • Ability to identify, flag and solve problems from start to finish
    • Detail oriented and extremely organized
    • Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting and fiscal record-keeping.
