Accountant at One StepAhead Consulting

• The Accountant is responsible for overseeing all financial activities within the organization. This role involves financial planning, budgeting, financial analysis, reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the company's growth and strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial strategies and objectives in line with the company's goals.
• Prepare and monitor the annual budget, forecasts, and financial plans.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for improvement.
• Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take.
• Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
• Maintain the financial health of the organization.
• Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.
• Prepare and present regular financial reports to the executive team and board of directors.
• Ensure prompt payment of vendors, salaries, and all regulatory obligations.
• Ensure accuracy and transparency in financial statements and reporting.
• Keep abreast of financial accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage the company's cash flow to meet short-term and long-term financial needs.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable to optimize working capital.
• Implement strategies to mitigate financial risks and maintain liquidity.
• Ensure compliance with all tax regulations, filings, and payments.
• Manage relationships with external auditors and oversee the annual audit process.
• Maintain a strong understanding of relevant financial laws and regulations.
• Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
• Collaborate with senior management to formulate and execute financial strategies.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Managing Partner/COO.

Critical competencies

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• ACCA, CFA, or ICAN is required.
• Knowledge of financial modeling and forecasting.
• 3-6 years experience in the financial sector with previous possible roles such as finance lead or Manager.
• Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in financial software and tools.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
