Accountant at HOP Mobile Transport Limited

The Accountant at hop will play a key role in managing the company’s financial records, tracking revenue from ride and logistics operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update general ledger accounts including accounts payable, receivable, and payroll.
• Record all transactions related to rides, logistics, and fleet operations.
• Reconcile daily transactions with ride-hailing and driver payment systems.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Monitor and report revenue trends, driver payouts, commissions, and operational costs.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
• Handle tax calculations and ensure statutory compliance (e.g., VAT, PAYE, company income tax).
• Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
• Generate financial reports to support decision-making for operations and growth.
• Use accounting software and internal dashboards to ensure transparency and accountability.

Qualifications:

• B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• ACA, ACCA/ICAN qualification (or in progress).
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a tech or logistics company.
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or ERP systems).
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
• Familiarity with ride-hailing or transport operations is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
