Accountant at Hoop Telecoms

Location: Ajao Estate, Lagos

Job Purpose

• The Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• The role supports Hoop Telecoms Limited’s financial health by handling transactions, budgeting, tax compliance, and providing accurate financial insights for decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
• Monitor cash flow, revenue, expenses, and reconcile bank statements.
• Ensure timely filing of tax returns and compliance with all statutory obligations (PAYE, VAT, WHT, Corporate Tax, etc.).
• Support budget preparation, financial forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Track and report on project costs, telecoms infrastructure expenses, and capital expenditures.
• Develop internal controls to safeguard company assets and improve financial processes.
• Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies.
• Collaborate with other departments (HR, Admin, Service Management, Sales) to provide financial insights that support operational decisions.
• Prepare management reports for the Head of Finance and Executive Management.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred.
• 4 – 6years of accounting experience, preferably in telecoms or technology sectors.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, financial regulations, and IFRS.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or ERP systems) and MS Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
