The Accountant is responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts, along with relevant schedules and operational performance reviews (OPR). Key duties include reconciling accounts for suppliers, contractors, sundry creditors, and debtors, as well as conducting thorough bank reconciliations and computing bank-related charges.
The role involves reviewing statutory payments, including PAYE, VAT, pension, NSITF, and WHT, ensuring compliance and preparing necessary schedules for major accounts.
The Accountant is also tasked with updating and maintaining asset registers and depreciation schedules, managing inter-company reconciliations, and participating in data collection for annual budgeting. Additionally, the position requires the preparation of weekly cash budgets and performing other duties as assigned by superior officers.
This role demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and statutory compliance.
Job Details
Preparation of monthly management accounts together with the related schedules and operational performance review (OPR).
Accounts reconciliation of Suppliers & Contractors, Sundry Creditors & Debtors.
Bank reconciliation and computation of bank related charges.
Review of statutory payments - PAYE, VAT, Pension, NSITF and WHT and all related schedule for major accounts head.
Updating and maintaining asset registers and depreciation schedule.
Updating inter-company reconciliation exercise and matrix.
Data collection for annual budgeting.
Preparation of weekly cash budget.
Any other job that may be assigned by Superior Officers.
Qualification:
HND/B.Sc in Accounting.
Additional Requirement:
Matured candidates with not less than ten (10) working experience or ACCA with not less than three (03) years working experience.
Proficiency in any Accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
