Accountant at CapitalSage Technology Limited

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team.
• The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, analyzing data, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

• Preparation of financial statements & reports.
• Reviewing of Bank reconciliation statements.
• Reviewing of daily postings into the General Ledger.
• Creation of General ledgers for new transactions and Banks.
• Rendition of statutory returns (CBN, NDIC, CAC etc.).
• Budget preparation and allocation.
• Expense monitoring & control.
• Liaising with statutory bodies and government agencies such as (CBN, NDIC, PAYE, WHT, VAT).
• Liaising with compensation officer, internal control & external auditors.
• Liaising with Banks of finance related issues.
• Attends to various meetings such as: Management meetings, Credit review, Credit Appraisal and general purpose meetings.
• Computation of depreciation and amortization.
• Preparation of salary journal and posting.
• Reconciliation of bank books and records: prepayment, sundry creditors, sundry customers, unpaid salary etc.
• Maintenance and updating of fixed assets register and schedule.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional certification such as ICAN is an added advantage.
• Proven experience as an Accountant in a prominent Microfinance Bank, with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
