 Job Summary

The AC Technician is responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance, and servicing of all air-conditioning and ventilation systems associated with the 6000 TCD milling section.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• The role ensures reliable system performance, optimal cooling efficiency, and strict adherence to safety standards, operational procedures, and preventive maintenance schedules to support uninterrupted plant operations.
• Operate, inspect, and maintain all air-conditioning (AC) and ventilation systems within the milling section and control rooms.
• Carry out routine preventive maintenance on compressors, condensers, evaporators, blowers, and filters.
• Monitor system performance and ensure optimal temperature and humidity levels as per equipment and operational requirements.
• Diagnose faults in electrical and mechanical components of AC units and perform corrective maintenance promptly.
• Replace or repair defective parts such as motors, belts, thermostats, or refrigerant lines.
• Implement and monitor safety practices and ensure compliance with statutory and company safety standards.
• Maintain proper records, logbooks, and reports of mill operations, downtime, and maintenance activities.
• Ensure availability of critical spares and consumables in coordination with the stores and procurement teams.
• Participate in periodic training to stay updated with the latest maintenance techniques and technologies.

Educational Qualification and Work Experience

• National Diploma (ND) or Technical Trade Test (TT II or TT I) in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Certification in HVAC systems maintenance and troubleshooting will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in installation, operation, and maintenance of industrial or commercial air-conditioning systems (split units, package units, and chillers).
