Position Description

• We are looking for Offsite Operation Area head Candidates for Refinery.It is essential that the candidate should have relevant Refinery,experience/Petrochemical Plants experience,to build the World's largest single stream train Greenfield refinery and Petrochemical complex site based candidates for Nigeria, Lagos.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensures personally the safety of personnel and the process safety of the area.
• Responsible for all aspects of performance of the area; single point of accountability.
• Coordinates with Maintenance to carry out Maintenance activities as per operational requirement to ensure equipment reliability in operation.
• Implements operations plan for crude receipt, receipt and transfer of intermediate products and dispatch of finished products
• Interacts closely with Production Planning and Scheduling, Marine Terminal and Quality Control for implementing the offsites operations plan
• Facilitates uninterrupted operation of Process Units, Power Plant and Marine facilities by transferring and delivering intermediate products and finished products as per schedule.
• Implements plan for dispatch of products.
• Oversees blending of intermediate streams to finished products as per plan.
• Ensures certification of blended product by the Quality Control Laboratory and implements corrections, if necessary to meet the product quality, based on lab results.
• Oversees the training of supervisors and operators within the block
• Approves the Operating Manual and Procedures and work control procedures for the Offsites.
• Identifies and implements continuous improvements in offsite operation.
• Issues hot work permits for Maintenance / Project activities within the Block
• Ensures availability of chemicals, safety equipment, PPEs and consumables on site as per operational requirements.
• Ensures safety talks and tool box talks with the operating crew at carried out at regular intervals.

Initial Project Activities:

• For area of responsibility:
  • Detailed plan for the organization of area of responsibility
  • Provision of input to engineering from operations perspective on start-up/shutdown systems, isolation, bypasses, drains, safety, etc.
  • Preparation of block systems and sub-systems
  • Preparation of detailed operating manuals and proce

Desired Qualification/Preferred Competencies

• BS or MS degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical)
• Minimum 35 years’ experience in refinery operations, 30 years’ operations and/or process engineering experience in the major process of responsibility.
• Demonstrated ability to generate or closely supervise generation of key operating manuals and procedures for the area of responsibility.
