Machinist at Primus Group

RESPONSIBILITIES

• To be able to operate machining equipment such as lathe, milling machine, drill etc., and to be conversant   with   machining   techniques   particularly   for   equipment   replacement   parts
• Conducting all types of emergency repairs, maintenance, adjustments of important tools with the aim of maximizing operational efficiency.
• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.
• Fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying   kno
• wledge  of  mechanics,  shop  mathematics,  metal  properties,  layout,  and machining procedures
• To order and keep in stock sufficient machining materials and tools.
• To ensure equipment is operated in the correct manner and that all safety regulations (use of
• goggles, screws etc.) are strictly adhered to.
• To carry out such tasks / duties as may be assigned by his Supervisor(s).
• To attend safety meetings amongst his group.
• To work towards a zero defect operation.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Individual must have minimum 5 years’ experience as a Machinist.
• Individual should have experience in operation of machining equipment and be familiar with machine techniques and materials
