    Senior Executive Assistant

    Details:

    Our Client, a leading player in the Investment banking Industry is looking to hire someone for the post of a Senior Executive Assistant.

    Job Theme:

    Strategy Development, Project Management, Implementation and Coordination

    Objective: Provide strategic management support to the Managing Director by ensuring the existence of an effective and efficient operations platform within the company; managing overall associated business risk on behalf of the company

    Responsibilities:

    Strategic

    • Work with the Managing Director and Board to identify critical business value drivers/KPIs and develop effective solutions to critical business issues affecting operating entities within the Company.
    • Assist in the formulation and articulation of the Company’s Development and Governmental Relations strategies, ensure continued alignment of these strategies and action plans with company aspirations
    • Continuously project an image of the Company as a good steward of shareholder investments and ensure the Company retains a positive image in terms of its business dealings, compliance with ethical practices and financial disclosures within Nigeria and abroad.
    • Manage the processes in planning, developing, reviewing, presenting, and monitoring the capital and operating budgets.
    • Assist in the preparation of company’s yearly business and strategic plans.

    Operational

    Government & External Relations

    • Facilitate the attainment of corporate goals and objectives through regular interaction with high ranking executives within the Government and other stakeholders.
    • Manage and execute projects within the Company’s portfolio and ensure timely completion within budget.
    • Strategic planning, execution, deal-making, value creation and enhancement of the Company.
    • Direct and manage staff members as well as technical staff and contractors.
    • Serve as liaison with business and community leaders to gain resources and develop recommendations for operating and financial directions.
    • Provide clear leadership, promote and foster a team culture consistent with the organization’s values.
    • Oversee company operations to ensure production efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
    • Manage company operational procedures, policies, and standards. Ensure that the day-to-day operations of the organization are effectively and efficiently coordinated, implemented and conducted within the framework agreed to by the Board.
    • Contribute to strategic decisions as a member of the organization’s leadership team
    • Build and maintain a high-performance culture through effective performance management, communication, and coaching of staff.
    • Represent the Managing Director in some meetings like budget defense, audit meetings, special functions etc.

    Business Development & Relationship Management

    • Effectively support prospecting/origination and proposal development efforts for major, complex and high-risk business development initiatives and projects, through networks of relationships; create pathways to decision makers thereby serving as a key influencer in such situations
    • Lead/support key executives as may be required on major strategic alliances, business deals, contracts and financial negotiations; as may be required, work as a member of teams that review and approve large contracts, strategic alliances and preferred vendor arrangements to ensure the company interests are adequately protected, and objectives achieved within budget provisions; work closely with Business Owners, Legal, Compliance & Risk Management teams as may be required
    • Represent the Company and individual entities in key presentations, negotiations, and discussions with existing and potential high-value customers, business partners, government and regulatory officials at all tiers and other external concerns or 3rd parties

    Business Performance Management, Reporting & Audit

    • Review business operating results, compare with set objectives and develop appropriate recommendations for revisions/alignment of Company’s plans based on current business realities and conditions
    • Ensure all periodic internal and external reporting obligations are met; directly handle reporting to the Board of Directors and external bodies such as External Auditors and Regulatory Authorities, as may be required from time to time

    QUALIFICATION & PERSON SPECIFICATION

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Economics/Business Administration or any  related field from a reputable institution
    • A Master’s degree in Accounting/Economics/ Business Administration is an added advantage
    • Experience in the Investment banking/financial industry is an advantage. Minimum of 15 years relevant work experience
    • Demonstrable understanding of advanced business operations and performance analysis
