Android Developer at 4Barz Technologies

(Full time onsite, Wuse 2 Abuja)

We are looking for an Android developer responsible for the development and maintenance of applications aimed at a vast number of diverse Android devices. Your primary focus will be the development of Android applications and their integration with back-end services. You will be working alongside other engineers and developers working on different layers of the software infrastructure. Therefore, commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and creating quality products is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code
• Design, build, and maintain high performance, reusable, and reliable Java code
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and optimization

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, how to handle resource switching for different Android OS platform versions, as well as handling multiple device screen sizes/densities
•  Must be comfortable working on and debugging with Android Studio and/or other IntelliJ IDEs
• Strong knowledge and a passion for test-driven development
• Familiarity with some of the battle tested open-source android libraries such as Retrofit, Glide, Picasso,   Timber etc used for common tasks
• Must be knowledgeable on common Android UI/UX patterns that can be applied to common use cases
• Familiarity with Backend As A Service APIs such as Firebase, Parse etc
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
• A knack for benchmarking and optimization
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Android Architecture components & ability to use these to build a robust project structure
• Knowledge of the Kotlin programming language
• Knowledge of at least one Architectural pattern such as MVP, MVVM etc
• Knowledge of RxJava or any similar Reactive programming libraries
