Veterinary Clinicians at Maigoje Foundation

Maigoje Foundation (MgF) is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill the following positions in a Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Livestock Restocking Project (subject to funding) to be based in Gujba, Gulani, Geidam, Tarmuwa and Nguru LGAs of Yobe States.

Duration: 3 Months

Qualifications:
Minimum DVM degree required, strongly preferred Master's degree or equivalent in veterinary services.

Experience:

• At least 2-3 years experience in clinical practice, livestock management and demonstrable experience in conducting assessments, livelihood intervention and mapping.
• The candidates most have strong analytical skill, reporting and writing abilities
• Excellent organizational skills with diligent record-keeping
• Excellent communication skills (written and spoken English and Hausa), fluency in Kanuri Language is an added advantage.
• Ability to multi-task and to work to demanding timelines, whilst remaining focused on strategic goals
• Demonstrated competence in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Able to be based full-time in LGA of assignment

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will

• Supervise the LGA coordinator and Field Volunteers
• Provide clinical services to large and small animals in the LGA of assignment
• Support the Vendors, Enumerators and FAO team towards the smooth implementation of the project
• Train beneficiaries on livestock handling and management
• Provide activity report to the foundation.
