Back-End Web Developer at Travelpaddy.com

Responsibilities

• Shall be responsible for creating the logical back-end and core computational logic of the Travelpaddy.com website
• Shall liaise with the front-end team in designing, developing and implementing web services and applications for the Travelpaddy.com website.
• Shall monitor web services and ensure that they are responsive across all browser types.
• Shall work with the Front-End web developer in developing and maintaining a custom Content management portal for Travelpaddy.com
• Shall use the necessary technologies and programming language to develop the framework on which a world class UI/UX can be deployed
• Shall be responsible for developing an administrative backend for the Travelpaddy.com website.
• Shall explain the technical trade-offs of different approaches, including estimating how long each project will take to deploy
• Shall be required to have advanced understanding of emerging web technologies
• Shall maintain, contribute and adhere to our programming best practices and guidelines
• Shall work with the technology team to realize new concepts and ideas.
• Shall maintain confidentiality on all of the above, given the sensitive nature of the projects
• Shall be responsible for integrating multiple flight APIs
• Shall be responsible for integrating multiple payment processing gateways
• Shall be responsible for ensuring that all integrations function optimally and efficiently at all times.

Requirements
First degree from a reputable university

Experience

• :Minimum of 6 months in a formal structure.
• Custom web application development.
• Developed with at least one CMS framework or web application framework.
• Employed a framework or extended an existing CMS with custom coding.
• Knowledgeable about accessibility or security compliance relevant in client’s sector and geographic location.
• Understands the underlying systems on which web applications are developed.
• Understands the technologies and languages which power the web such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Understands key server-side web development concepts such as:

• Integrating data or user accounts between multiple systems for a client.
• Integrating multiple databases and/or database types into one system.
• Managing a hosting environment, and has administered databases.
• Scaling an application and/or its hosting environment to support increases in traffic.
• Setting up or using a version control system, and manage control with file based assets and data.
• Implementing or working with content approval and staging workflows.
• Migrating data, scripting migration of data.
• Implementing, managing or using a backup system and disaster recovery.
• Securing data or access to applications with multiple user levels, or has the ability to customize based on user levels.
• Implementing or working with a template driven system with a clear separation between content and display. *comment.
