    Base Logistician

    Location: Bade, Yobe, Nigeria

    Job Summary

    • The Base Logistician will be based in Bade, Yobe State and report to the Area Project Manager. 
    • The Base Log will provide support to the logistics department in the management of the logistics supply chain, equipments, means of communication and the vehicle fleet.
    • He/she will also manage the base logistics team and follow HR related issues, manage all rehabilitation and maintenance of office and premises, ensure proper security of office, warehouse, guest-house as well as the mission's equipment.

    The key tasks and responsibilities for this role includes but not limited to:

    • Ensuring KitLogV3.3 procedures are followed in regards to supply chain including procurement, receipt and documentation.
    • Ensuring the base team understands and complies with the laid down procurement procedures.
    • Updating and sharing Procurement Follow Up (PFU) weekly to ensure proper control of procurement;
    • Developing a monthly planning of purchase & ensure best available prices and quality of the items.
    • Ensuring all storage, warehousing and stocks management activities run by the storekeeper (and under the supervision of Assistant Base Logistician, if applicable) meets the mission's standards and principle warehousing requirements (conditions, FIFO rule, identification, documentation)
    • Maintenance of stock management files (stock cards, DN, SRO, other) and procurement files.
    • Follow-up and monitoring installation, maintenance and repair of equipment;
    • Tracking of assets, update base equipment list with new equipment on a monthly basis and conduct physical check of equipment list each 3 months.
    • Supporting the implementation and compliance of (with the support of the Assistant Base Logistician, if applicable) the mission's standard vehicle and generator fueling, maintenance and repair processes.
    • Ensuring logbooks are filled, consolidated and monitored on a monthly basis.
    • Providing weekly cash forecast and manage cash advances for logistics department.
    • Preparing driver schedules and holiday plans.
    • Collating and analyzing monthly reports for inventory, running costs of vehicles and generators.

    Requirements
    The successful candidate will:

    • Have at least of Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Logistics, Procurement, Supply Chain or any other equivalent course with a minimum of 2 years working experience in logistics or procurement.
    • Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving and computer skills including ability to use Microsoft office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Have experience within INGO and Humanitarian context.
    • Have the ability to pay attention to details.
    • Be adaptable, dependable and committed to Action Against Hunger mission, values and policy.
    • Have knowledge of the local language preferably.
