    Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant

    Location: Bade, Yobe

    Job Summary

    • The Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant will be based in Bade, Yobe state and reports to the M&E Officer. He/she will be responsible for data gathering, collation and reporting activities of the humanitarian multi-sectoral Rapid Response Mechanism (RRM) program at the community/local government level. The M & E Assistant will also assist in tracking the progress of key indicators and provide timely report to the M&E Officer.

    Task and Responsibilities
    The task and responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:

    • Assist in conducting project baseline, end line and progress surveys.
    • Ensure appropriate sample size and sampling survey methods, data collection procedures, and data verification through periodic site visits.
    • Support in collating and analyzing monitoring data as well as reports on findings from monitoring related activities.
    • Provide support to the M&E Officer in the design, planning, monitoring and evaluation of the program through managing data and facilitating program implementation monitoring at LGA level.
    • Collaborate with the project team to ensure information related to Action Against Hunger and program activities are share within LGAs and are provided for beneficiaries' feedback in line with relevant guidelines and frameworks.
    • Assist the Food, Security and Livelihood including WASH project team in terms of beneficiaries' selection and community volunteers as per the established procedure.
    • Representation of Action Against Hunger activities relating to monitoring, evaluation, accountability and reporting when required.
    • Ensure proper monitoring of implementation of the program, focusing on overall M&E framework of the program at LGA level.
    • Support the project team in facilitating the process of setting up Complaint Response Mechanism at Ward/LGA level and handling complaints/ feedback at LGA level.

    Requirements
    The successful candidate will:

    • Have a minimum of Higher National Diploma in a related field.
    • Have at least 1 year experience in the Monitoring, Evaluation and Accountability of humanitarian or development programs.
    • Have strong experience in mobile data collection, collation, analysis, and report writing.
    • Be professional, good organizational capacity, good human relationships and team spirit, motivated, open, creative, flexible and culturally sensitive.
    • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word).
    • Be willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited.
    • Be fluent in Hausa and English.
    • Have good knowledge of the intervention area/s and local economy
    • Be committed to Action Against Hunger mission, values and policy.
