Job Summary

• The Device Engineer II will assist in managing the company POS Devices and attend to all repairs and maintenance queries as related to the devices

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in Point of Sales (POS) terminal repair and maintenance
• Assist in general troubleshooting and monitoring of terminal issues, both hardware and software
• Assist in device fault detection and resolutions.
• Verify risks and issues related to device testing processes.
• Provide technical support to POS devices assigned to Company customers.
• Ensuring terminals work perfectly before deployment.
• Assist in POS store Management
• Maintain stock inventory & control to capture goods received and issuance.
• Provide information required for internal correspondence & verify physical stock position & re-order level.
• Ensure relevant records are maintained to which facilitate retroactive inspection & verification.
• Assist in review of terminal specifications to ensure its suitability with the local environment
• Management of spare parts for all devices
• Ordering new spare parts when necessary and when on limited supply of available parts.
• Develop policies on repairs and maintenance that will promote 100% uptime for all devices
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that the devices continue to run smoothly and operate efficiently
• Train and manage repairs and maintenance personnel’s
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualification and Requirements

• B.Sc in Electrical Electronics Engineering or Physics (2:2and above)
• 3+ years in progressively responsible experience in repair and maintenance of android POS Devices

• Strong understanding of engineering behind different types of POS devices
• Proven technical experience of POS repair and maintenance
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
• Experience in the POS industry, specifically retail agent distribution network, is a critical advantage

Other Skills and Abilities:

• PC proficiency and strong working knowledge of Excel, Power Point, Word and Google application is essential.
